Pierce the Veil are such amazing fucking lyricists, but this is by far my favorite one. I deal with this feeling all the time as a recovering cutter, having to explain my depression to people. So many of my friends and family don’t understand what the purpose is of cutting, what I get out of it, and what my depression feels like. Because they really DON’T know what it’s like waking up in the middle of the night, wanting to let that feeling out. To want to rip yourself open and let out the depression, but not being able to.
